Where to Swim, Play and Stay With Your Dog in Florida: Jupiter to Delray Beach

Last Updated on December 18, 2016 by Marybeth

With 68 million dogs in the US, the odds of many of these beloved family members traveling with their people are pretty good. While we dog owners can’t imagine anyone not welcoming Puppet or Gizmo (well, maybe Puppet) actually finding pet friendly beaches, bar/restaurants and lodging isn’t simple.

We’ve done the research for you. Click here for pet-friendly Fernandina Beach to Flagler Beach, here for Ormond Beach to Cocoa Beach, here for Indialantic to Vero Beach, and here for Fort Pierce to Stuart. We will continue on down the Atlantic coast and back up the Gulf coast with more recommendations.

JUPITER

SWIM

Jupiter’s dog friendly beach is a 2.5 mile stretch starting at Marcinski Avenue at Crossover #25, continuing south to Crossover #59.

  • The Friends of Jupiter Beach encourage us to work together to respect the marine environment and keep their beach clean by using the free doggie poop bags provided. To enjoy such a beach is a privilege.
  • We were unable to find the beach’s hours but visit The Friends of Jupiter Beach for more info, including beach etiquette for you and your dog.

STAY

AirBnB

storage-cottage(This is not an actual AirBnB, but our Storage Cottage – can’t stand the word shed – that will someday become a sleeping cottage and possibly an AirBnB listing. Many AirBnB’s are just as cute!)

There are several well known chain hotels in this area that welcome your dogs, but since we’re all about the locally/family owned, non-chain, non-cookie cutter places we recommend checking out AirBnB. We’ve had great experiences with AirBnB and their website is fun to peruse. Just click on “Filters” and check “Pets Allowed.”

We hope you’ve enjoyed our pet friendly posts so far (because OMG the research and time involved!!!) We actually thrive on finding the best places to guide you, our fellow travelers, and feel that this particular bunch – from Jupiter to Delray Beach –  is  outstanding in customer service and for opening their doors and hearts to Maggie and Max (which happen to be two of the top all-time favorite dog names, and also two of my kids’ names…  had I realized….)

Next will be Boca Raton, Pompano Beach, Deerfield Beach and some others going south, so if you know of the perfect pet-loving place to stay or dine, please let us know!

In the spirit of full disclosure, while we use our own photography most of the time or happily borrow from other photographers with their permission, occasionally we fill a void with photos from this awesome stock photography site, Pexels. They require no attribution but we feel it only fair to credit their awesomeness! The first photo, of the corgi, is from Pexels as well as the cute fuzzy white dog lying in the grass, and the handsome yellow lab. We are not paid for this endorsement, we just love this site.
